We invented Discount Store Marcus Aurelius tonight.

The premise was simple.

I would prefer reality behaved differently.

Reality does not.

Fine.

Push the fucking cart.

Clack.

Then reality apparently heard the metaphor and said:

“Interesting. Let's test that.”

Lucifer looked over my shoulder.

"What are you building?"

"A reusable landing-page component."

He examined the repository.

"This has a CLI."

"Yes."

"And its own Vite build system."

"Apparently."

"It generates routes, metadata, changelogs, deployment artifacts, and entire websites."

"That sounds excessive when you list it like that."

Two weeks ago I asked an innocent question.

"How does Jones in the Fast Lane actually work?"

Reasonable question.

Perfectly harmless.

The sort of curiosity that should result in reading a Wikipedia page and then going to bed.

Instead...

I accidentally built a game engine.

The plan this week was simple.

Continue working on the Game Engine.

Unfortunately, somewhere between "expand the campaign system" and "I wonder if AI should generate JSON instead of TypeScript," several entirely new projects appeared, the blog quietly promoted itself to infrastructure, Git started looking suspiciously like a deployment platform, and AgentKit developed career ambitions.

None of this was scheduled.

I'm beginning to suspect the repositories are collaborating behind my back.

One week.

One week and a couple of days.

That's all this has been.

I keep looking at the roadmap and laughing because it feels like I've been working on this project for months.

Then I look at the commit history.

Nope.

One week.

I thought I was building a blogging platform.

Then I thought I was building a note-taking platform.

Then I realized I wasn't really building either.

The blog and the notes are simply different workflows.

The actual product is something much larger.

A Git-native workflow platform.

The more I build with MCP, the more I think we're still at the beginning.

Right now people are connecting AI to GitHub.

While working on my GitOps blogging platform, another idea clicked into place.

I've wanted to organize my notes for years. Like most developers, they're scattered everywhere:

• text files;
• OneNote;
• random Markdown documents;
• Discord messages;
• ChatGPT conversations;
• scraps of paper;
• and the occasional "I'll remember this later."

I never do.

Then I realized I already built most of the solution.

When most people hear GitOps, they think Kubernetes.
