What I Expect From You
(The Mirror)
This page is not demanding.
It’s symmetrical.
I don’t ask for anything I don’t give.
I Expect Honesty
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. If something isn’t working, say so.
I don’t punish clarity. I rely on it.
I Expect Curiosity
You don’t have to know everything. You do have to care.
Ask questions. Challenge assumptions. Stay interested longer than is comfortable.
That’s where the good stuff is.
I Expect Ownership
If you take something on:
- see it through,
- surface problems early,
- don’t outsource responsibility.
Mistakes are fine. Avoidance is not.
I Expect Adult Communication
I don’t do:
- passive aggression,
- politics,
- or indirect signaling.
If there’s tension, we talk. If there’s disagreement, we explore it. If there’s a decision, we make one.
I Expect Mutual Respect
Not hierarchy. Not deference. Not performative politeness.
Respect looks like:
- listening,
- not interrupting,
- and assuming competence by default.
I Expect Space to Think
I don’t operate well in environments where:
- urgency is constant,
- interruptions are the norm,
- and reflection is treated as laziness.
If everything is always on fire, something upstream is broken.
I Expect You to Say “No” Sometimes
Blind agreement is not collaboration. Pushback is healthy. Boundaries matter.
If you never disagree with me, something is wrong.
What I Don’t Expect
I don’t expect:
- perfection,
- certainty,
- or endless availability.
I don’t expect you to:
- impress me,
- keep up appearances,
- or be anything other than yourself.
What This Page Is Really About
This is not about standards. It’s about fit.
If reading this felt:
- reasonable,
- grounding,
- or reassuring,
we’ll probably work well together.
If it felt:
- heavy,
- demanding,
- or uncomfortable,
that’s useful information too.
Alignment beats talent.
Every time.
This page exists so we don’t have to learn that the hard way.
